A. David Hawkins
David Hawkins was born on December 20, 1946, and raised on a family dairy farm in Campbell County, Virginia, graduating from Rustburg High School in 1965. He has been married to Cheryl Ford Hawkins since 1970. They have two children and five grandchildren. David's hobbies include tennis, whitewater kayaking, and working on the family farm. He served in the Virginia Air National Guard from 1969-1975. David is an active member of Rustburg Methodist Church and volunteers for the Rustburg Lions Club, Patrick Henry Boys and Girls Plantation, Legal Aid Society Board Directors, Rustburg Cemetery Association, Red Cross Board Directors (Lynchburg). He is a Legal Advisor for Rustburg Rescue Squad, Rustburg Fire Department, Gladys Community Rescue Squad, and Brookneal Fire Department. David is a member of the Lynchburg Bar Association (President, 1986-1987), Campbell County Bar Association, The Virginia Bar Association, Virginia State Bar, Virginia Trial Lawyers Association, and the Central Virginia Plaintiffs Association (President, 1985-1986). Over the past forty-five years, David has represented a wide variety of clients, now primarily focusing on Personal Injury cases. He is known as a premiere trial lawyer in Central and Southwest Virginia. David is rated as an AV lawyer by Martindale Hubbell, listed in Virginia Super Lawyers, the Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers, Who’s Who in American Law, 10th ed., and voted Best Lawyer in Lynchburg. William "Bill" E. Phillips
Bill was born in Richmond, Virginia in 1960 and moved to Lynchburg at age 13, graduating from E.C. Glass High School in 1978. He married Margaret, also a practicing attorney, in 1990. His hobbies include traveling and attending professional baseball games. Bill is a member of the Virginia State Bar, Virginia Bar Association, Lynchburg Bar Association, Campbell County Bar Association, the American Board of Trial Advocates, and the Fellows of the Virginia Law Foundation. He is a past-President of the Lynchburg Bar Association and has served on the Board of Directors for the Client Protection Fund for the Virginia State Bar, and as faculty and lecturer for the Virginia State Bar’s Professionalism Course. For almost forty years, Bill has developed an extensive practice in civil litigation with emphasis on personal injury and commercial litigation, trying more than 200 jury trials to completion in state and federal courts. He serves on the Board of Governors for the Virginia Bar Association (since 2022) and for the Senior Lawyer Conference for the Virginia State Bar (since 2023). Bill spends the majority of his practice working on personal injury cases, but also has experience with various other areas of law.

Frank A. Wright, Jr.
Frank was born and raised in Campbell County, Virginia, graduating from Rustburg High School in 1989. He is married to Kristin B. Wright, also an attorney at the firm. They live in Brookneal with their two sons. Frank's hobbies include spending time with his family, running, mountaineering, mountain biking, and camping. He is a member of New Bethel Church. Frank is a member of the Lynchburg Bar Association, Campbell County Bar Association, Virginia Bar Association, Virginia State Bar, Local Government Attorneys of Virginia, Virginia Trial Lawyers Association, and the Virginia School Board Association - Council of School Board Attorneys. As a partner at Overbey, Hawkins, Wright & Vance, PLLC, Frank has a broad base of trial and transactional experience, primarily litigating personal injury cases, but also construction, business, general civil, criminal, and real estate law. He has assisted local government clients with matters under various state and federal statutes. Frank has represented hundreds of criminal defendants and closed hundreds of real estate transactions. He also assists clients in developing estate plans. Frank has been named a Rising Star by Law and Politics Magazine multiple times and a top 100 Plaintiff’s Lawyers in Virginia by The National Trial Lawyers. He holds an AV designation from Martindale-Hubbell. Samuel "Sam" Franklin Vance, IV
Sam Vance was born in New York City, New York, but grew up in Roanoke, Virginia. He has been happily married to Tracy Hawkins Vance since 1994. They live in Rustburg with their three children. Sam's hobbies include spending time with his family, fishing, running, and traveling. He is an active member of Saint Andrew Presbyterian Church. Prior to joining Overbey, Hawkins, Wright & Vance, PLLC as a partner in 2011, Sam practiced with Gentry Locke Rakes & Moore (1999-2001) and Glenn Feldmann Darby & Goodlatte (2002-2009), and served as in-house counsel for Advance Auto Parts (2009-2011). He successfully represented hundreds of clients in personal injury cases and works on real estate, estate planning, and small business issues. He is chief legal counsel to the Campbell County Educational Foundation and the Lynchburg Symphony Orchestra. Sam is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in Virginia, including the United States Bankruptcy Court. He spends the majority of his practice devoted to personal injury cases, criminal defense, real estate, wills and estate planning, business, and local government law.

Kristin B. Wright
Kristin is a native of Grosse Pointe, Michigan, and moved to Virginia in 1997 after completing law school. She is married to Frank Wright, also an attorney at the firm. They have two college-age sons. Kristin is a member of the Virginia State Bar, Virginia Bar Association, Lynchburg Bar Association, and the Campbell County Bar Association. She is an inactive member of the District of Columbia Bar. Kristin is a past faculty member for the Virginia State Bar Association’s Professionalism Course and a past member of the board of the Lynchburg Bar Association. She spent eight years at Overbey, Hawkins, Wright & Vance, working primarily in domestic areas (divorce, custody, guardian ad litem, child support, criminal defense in domestic matters). She also worked as a federal clerk for the bankruptcy court, an associate in a large Washington firm on insurance defense, and fifteen years as in-house civil counsel for Campbell County. She has been lead counsel on a number of reported federal cases, mostly involving constitutional rights. Kristin concentrates now on her domestic practice.

Chandler L. Lawhorn
Chandler Langhorne Lawhorn was born and raised in Campbell County, Virginia. She graduated from Rustburg High School in 2012. Chandler married her husband, Cody Lawhorn, in 2015. They live in Rustburg with their two German Shepherds. Chandler’s hobbies include spending time with family, creating DIY projects, and riding horses. Chandler worked at the law offices of Jester & Jester and Betsy H. Phillips, PLLC, in Lynchburg, Virginia before joining the law firm of Overbey, Hawkins, Wright & Vance, PLLC in Rustburg, Virginia in 2023. Chandler spends the majority of her practice devoted to general civil litigation and estate administration.
