Michael J. Moeller

Mike was born and raised in North Iowa and graduated from Clear Lake High School in 1998. He attended the University of Iowa and obtained his B.B.A in Marketing. He spent nearly a decade working in marketing and sales in Chicago, before relocating to St. Paul, MN and attending Mitchell Hamline School of Law. After earning his law degree, Mike returned to his hometown of Clear Lake in 2013 to begin his legal career, and has been practicing in the area ever since. Service has always been an integral part of Mike’s life, and it was his desire to help others that led him to return to school to pursue his law degree. In addition to providing support and guidance in the legal realm today, Mike also serves as Vice President of the Clear Lake Community School Board and as a Member of the Iowa Supreme Court Grievance Commission. In the past, he has served as president of the Clear Lake Noon Lions Club, president of Good Shepherd Nursing Home, and on the Family Preservation Court Steering Committee. Outside of the firm, Mike likes to attend sporting events and enjoy time on the water with his wife, Rachelle, and their three children.

Renee L. Strahan

Renee recently graduated from Drake University Law School with highest honors and was recognized with the SBA President’s Student Service Award and the American Law Institute Scholarship & Leadership Award. Renee is also a C. Edwin Moore Oral Advocacy Winner and member of the Order of the Coif and National Order of Barristers. Born and raised on an Eastern Iowa farm, Renee returned to this side of the state to settle down in a town reminding her of her hometown roots. She has always strongly valued speaking up and is passionate about voicing the needs of others, especially in the courtroom. Renee appreciates that no two days at the firm are the same. Outside of the office, she volunteers with St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital and takes advantage of every moment she can spend outside with her Cane Corso puppy, Porter. Renee’s practice includes agriculture, corporate and business litigation, business and commercial law, personal injury and wrongful death.

Jacqueline R. Conway

Jackie grew up in northwest Iowa and was inspired to practice law by her father, Roger A. Berkland, an attorney in Emmetsburg, Iowa. Following in his footsteps, she attended the University of Iowa College of Law-graduating with honors. Finding herself impressed with both Laird Law Firm and the Mason City community, she decided to plant roots on the north central side of the state. Over the years, she has served the community in a variety of capacities, including as a member of the Grievance Commission of the Supreme Court of Iowa, District 2A Judicial Nominating Commission, Board of Directors of Good Shepherd Health Center and as an officer for the Mason City Kennel Club. She is also a member of the Cerro Gordo County, Iowa State and District 2A Bar Associations. In her free time, Jackie enjoys traveling with her family, trying unique restaurants and soaking up the sun whenever possible. She loves being active in the outdoors year-round, especially running, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, riding horses, scuba diving and fishing. Jackie also thoroughly enjoys attending concerts, movies and theater productions. Jackie practices primarily in the areas of family law and probate administration.

Gerald M. Stambaugh

An Iowa native, Gerald “Jerry” Stambaugh grew up in Springville, IA and has served the north Iowa community for years practicing primarily in business law, real estate transactions, and estate planning. Jerry has made presentations to various civic groups, service organizations, and professional advisors on a variety of topics, including auctions, wills, trusts, estates, estate planning, powers of attorney, guardianships, conservatorships, custodianships, taxes, business entities, abstracting, and real estate.

Matthew F. Berry

A Mason City native, Matt serves the firm as a transactional attorney, with a focus on real estate, estate planning, probate, and corporate law. When it comes to legal matters, Matt is dedicated to finding the best solutions for the needs of his clients, which stems from genuine care and concern for each client’s situation. Matt’s passion for law was ignited at a young age after accompanying his grandfather to the Pocahontas County courthouse. His grandmother had recently passed and they were meeting with attorneys in the law library to have her farmland valued. Matt was impressed by the attorneys and how much they helped his grandfather. From that moment on, he knew he wanted to be an attorney, too. Matt is a member of the Cerro Gordo County Bar Association as well as the Iowa State Bar Association. In addition to his work, Matt is active in his faith and serves as a Permanent Deacon in the Roman Catholic Church, assigned to both Epiphany Parish in Mason City and Sacred Heart Parish in Manly. He is also a member of the One Vision Foundation Board of Directors and the Finance Committee for the Catholic Foundation for the Archdiocese of Dubuque. Matt enjoys traveling with his family, golfing, and cheering for the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Jacquelyn K. Arthur

Jacquelyn was born in Salem, Massachusetts, and relocated to Eastern Iowa at a young age. After graduating from the University of Iowa College of Law in 1995, she moved to Mason City, Iowa, where she has remained ever since. She is active in the community and serves on the Cerro Gordo County Conservation Board and the board of the Cerro Gordo County Housing Trust Fund. In the past, she has served on the Iowa Supreme Court Grievance Commission, District 2A Judicial Nominating Commission, Cerro Gordo County Magistrate Nominating Commission, North Iowa Corridor Economic Development Corporation Board, and the Enhance Iowa Board. Outside of the firm, Jacquelyn enjoys spending time at home with family, tending her garden, and catching up with friends. Jacquelyn provides excellent legal representation in the areas of real estate transactions, condominium development and management, zoning laws, estate planning, and business transactions.

Andrew C. Johnston

Andy grew up in St. Cloud, MN, and completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire. He first moved to Iowa while attending the University of Iowa College of Law, where he was a managing editor of the Iowa Law Review. Following law school, he accepted a position with Laird and has happily called north Iowa “home” ever since. Andy serves on the firm’s Management Committee as well as on the 43 North Iowa Board of Directors and the District 2A Nominating Commission. He has previously served on the boards of Central Gardens of North Iowa and the Mason City Chamber of Commerce. Andy is also a member of the Cerro Gordo County, District 2A, and Iowa State Bar Associations. Away from his professional commitments, he enjoys family time with his wife, Tasha, and their children, as well as exploring local breweries, supporting the Minnesota Vikings, and taking snowboarding trips out West. Andy’s practice focuses on corporate and commercial law, estate planning, and probate and trust administration.
