About Clay
Clay M. Townsend is a co-founder of Griffin, Morgan, Linder and Townsend, P.A. in 1985 with John Morgan. He has represented clients in personal injury claims, as well as commercial, entertainment, and intellectual property litigation in multiple jurisdictions against some of the largest corporations in the United States. High-profile clients have included Britney Spears' manager Johnny Wright, the Backstreet Boys, Harlem Globetrotter players, and Michael Douglas. He has also worked on toxic tort cases, including with Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. on the Raytheon case in Tampa. Mr. Townsend started the contingency fee litigation practice at Morgan and Morgan with the Backstreet Boys cases and co-founded the Business Trial Group in 2010. He has obtained a long list of settlements and verdicts in excess of a million dollars, including recoveries in excess of $30 million dollars. He graduated from the University of Florida Law School cum laude in 1982 and received book awards in Constitutional Law, Family Law, and Comparative Law.
