Bernie Brannan was born in Montgomery, Alabama. He received his B.A., magna cum laude, from the University of Mississippi, where he was Phi Beta Kappa and a Sally McDonnell Barksdale Honors Scholar. Bernie received his J.D. from the University of Alabama School of Law. After graduating law school, Bernie clerked for The Honorable J. Scott Vowell, Presiding Judge of the 10th Judicial Circuit of Alabama. He then worked at a Birmingham law firm representing insurance companies before joining Morgan & Morgan. He has tried more than forty-five jury trials to verdict. In 2016, he was listed by The Alabama Jury Verdict Reporter as the Most Prolific Trial Attorney. He has been listed as a Rising Star by Mid-South Super Lawyers (2017-present) and named by Best Lawyers as One to Watch since 2021.
