Since 1995, Derek Zazueta has fought for the rights of Arizonans through Civil Rights Law, Criminal Defense, and Family law. Prior to joining Matthew Lopez Law, Mr. Zazueta was a partner at Udall Shumway PLC, and managing partner at Zazueta Law Group PLLC in Scottsdale Arizona. He was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona, graduated from St. Mary’s High School, has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Arizona State University, where he also lettered in football for the Sun Devils. Mr. Zazueta also is a graduate of Arizona State University Sandra Day O’Connor College Of Law. Mr. Zazueta was named ASU Hispanic Convocation Graduate Student of the year in 1995. He has two boys and is active in the community with the ASU Sun Devils Letterwinners Club and Mentor Program as well as The Arizona Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Zazueta was formerly a professional boxing judge, judging multiple world championship bouts and a member of the Fiesta Bowl Committee (Yellow Jacket).
