About Fran
Fran brings almost 4 decades of experience as a lawyer and prosecutor to the Yates & Wheland’s Criminal Defense practice. Her entire career has focused on criminal law in Atlanta, and she has handled almost every type of criminal case. Fran was born in New York City, New York. She attended the University of Rochester for her undergraduate degree in Political Science and then went on to attend the Emory University School of Law. While in law school, Fran was an intern for the District Attorneys’ office and developed a lifelong interest in criminal law. Fran began her career in the Child Support Enforcement Unit and, throughout her 20 year career, worked her way to Senior Assistant ADA and eventually the Solicitor in Alpharetta and Milton, GA until April 2022.
