George R. Triplett

About George

George R. Triplett was born and raised in Randolph and Pocahontas counties in West Virginia. After graduating from Green Bank High School in 1953, he attended WVU’s Potomac State College and Shenandoah University, where he was inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame. He earned a B.S. degree from Davis and Elkins College in 1956 and later coached football at several high schools and Washington and Lee University. In 1962, George graduated from West Virginia College of Law. Early in his career, he served as legal assistant for the West Virginia State’s Investment Securities and Corporation Division, as well as administrative assistant to the West Virginia State Auditor. In 1964, he was appointed Assistant United States Attorney for the Northern District of West Virginia, handling jury trials in criminal, civil, and land condemnation cases.
