About Hon.
Hon. James G. Tunison, Jr. joined Slappey & Sadd, LLC in 2020 as a partner, opening the firm’s South Georgia office in Valdosta. Prior to this, he served as a Superior Court Judge in Georgia from 2009, presiding over civil and felony criminal trials. He developed the Lowndes County Pre-trial Release Program and was the first presiding judge on the Lowndes County Accountability Court. He was also selected as Administrative Judge for the 2nd Judicial Administrative District of Georgia. Before his judicial service, Jim was in private practice for 20 years, representing individuals in civil and criminal cases, with extensive jury trial experience. He graduated from Mercer University Walter F. George School of Law in 1988. He is admitted to practice in Georgia (1988), Florida (1989), and Wyoming (1996) state courts, and various federal courts.
