James Bayard Smith, Jr. graduated Cum Laude from Lafayette College in 1995 and received his law degree from The College of William & Mary School of Law in 1999. He was admitted to the New Jersey Bar that same year and is also acknowledged to practice before The United States Supreme Court, The United States Court of Appeals for the 3rd Circuit, and The United States Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces. He has been practicing personal injury law his entire career, trying numerous cases and obtaining verdicts for clients against large insurance companies. He served as a judicial clerk for a Superior Court Judge in Middlesex County and is a member of the New Jersey Association for Justice and the Middlesex County Bar Association. He retired as a Lieutenant Colonel after 28 years in the Army National Guard, including three overseas deployments. He is a third-generation attorney and a frequent lecturer on law, freedom, and the constitution.
