James E. Harper, born and raised in Porter County, graduated with honors from Indiana University and Georgetown University Law Center. He clerked for a federal judge and served as a public defender in New Orleans before returning to Indiana. His practice focuses on criminal convictions appeals and criminal defense, with experience in numerous jury trials and appeals. He is active in his community and a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
