Honorable Joseph F. Lisa is a former New York State Supreme Court Justice and is Of Counsel to Finz & Finz, P.C. Judge Lisa is a former member of the United States Marine Corps Reserve. He is the former Acting Chief of the Appeals Bureau of the Queens District Attorney’s Office and a former Acting Justice of the New York State Supreme Court, a position he held until he was elected as a Justice of the New York State Supreme Court. Prior to his tenure as a New York State Supreme Court Justice, Judge Lisa served as Law Secretary to the late Justices William G. Giaccio and J. Irwin Shapiro. Judge Lisa has also been elected to the New York City Civil Court, the New York State Assembly and the New York City Council, and as a Delegate to the New York State Constitutional Convention of 1967. Judge Lisa is a former Adjunct Professor of Political Science at City University of New York and has lectured and written extensively in both Europe and the United States on the social, legal, and ethical implications of the law in the time of epidemics and pandemics. He is a permanent member of the Scientific Community of the San Marino Scientific Conference in the Republic of San Marino.
