About Joseph
Joseph Jabar, Sr. recently joined the firm, which he started in 1979, after serving as a Judge for 14 years on the Maine Supreme Court and 8 years on the Superior Court. Prior to serving on the bench, Joseph had extensive trial experience, serving as a federal prosecutor in Washington, DC, as District Attorney in Kennebec-Somerset Counties, and working as a trial attorney for twenty-two years in his law firm. He has tried hundreds of criminal and civil jury trials and argued numerous appellate cases before the Maine Supreme and the 1st Circuit Court of Appeals. Joseph served in the Maine Legislature, where he was a member of the Judiciary Committee. He has also served as a Workers’ Compensation Commissioner and chairman of Executive Clemency Boards. Joseph has also served his community as a member and past president of the Alfond Youth Community Center (Boys & Girls Club/ YMCA), a member of the Waterville school board, and a member of the Waterville Charter Commission. Joseph graduated from Colby College and the University of Maine School of Law. Before attending law school, he was a standout athlete and has been inducted into the Maine Baseball Hall of Fame and the Cape Cod League Hall of Fame.
