With his accumulated knowledge of healthcare law and regulation, Keith Emmons offers a unique perspective on legal issues to the professional clients of Meyer Capel. Keith has been recognized as both an Illinois Leading Lawyer and an Illinois Super Lawyer in the Health Care Law field. His practice includes general litigation, alternative dispute resolution (“ADR”) and the general representation of physicians and other health care professionals, medical group practices, hospitals and managed care organizations. His areas of interest include physician employment contracts, general health care contracts and transactions, fraud and abuse regulatory compliance, governmental investigation defense, medical staff issues, medical disciplinary matters, risk management and both HIPAA and state medical privacy law-related matters. Keith also represents health care professionals in proceedings before the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation, Division of Professional Regulation (IDPR). He has served as a hospital medical staff hearing officer as well as a mediator and arbitrator in the resolution of civil disputes. For many years Keith defended physicians, nurses, medical group practices, managed care organizations, dentists, chiropractors, attorneys, accountants and other professionals in professional liability litigation.
