About Lance
Lance Avera, son of firm founder Bill Avera, is a partner at Avera & Smith. Admitted to the Florida Bar in 1989, he began his career as an assistant state attorney, then worked as a defense attorney for insurance companies before joining his father's practice in 2000. He specializes in personal injury, particularly workers’ compensation law, and has achieved substantial success with six to seven-figure settlements. Lance has been a board-certified workers’ compensation attorney in Gainesville since 1999, a rare distinction in Florida. He is a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum and has a preeminent AV Rating from Martindale-Hubbell. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoys fishing and hunting.
