Darío C. Gómez
Los Angeles, CA
Born and raised in Los Angeles, Mr. Gómez’s passion for the law began at a very early age, often attending meetings with his father who was a business associate of several different law firms in the Los Angeles area. Once he obtained his undergraduate Bachelor’s degree from the University of Nevada, Mr. Gómez went on to earn a Certificate in Paralegal Studies at UCLA in 2010 and worked as a full-time paralegal for approximately 5 years before furthering his legal education at Southwestern Law School. During law school, Mr. Gómez focused on gaining knowledge in entertainment and sports law, general litigation practice, and negotiation tactics, and was recognized for his academic distinction (e.g., placing as a Semifinalist in the Negotiation Honors Program and earning an Exceptional Achievement Award for the highest grade in Sports Law). He was also an active member of the Latino Law Students’ Association. Mr. Gómez graduated from Southwestern Law School in May 2017. Mr. Gómez was admitted to practice law in the State of California and the United States District Court for the Central District of California on December 3, 2018. He has been a zealous advocate for his clients ever since, first as a civil litigator in the entertainment, intellectual property, and business arenas, successfully arguing motions at both the state and federal levels, before switching his focus to personal injury law, where his passion for helping those unable to help themselves was rekindled, negotiating over $3 million in settlements for his clients in the last two years.

Albert G. Danker Jr.
Bridgeport, CT
I came to Connecticut many years ago to attend Wesleyan University, graduating in 1977 with a BA and major in Biology. Before attending law school and after working as a Mental Health Worker at Elmcrest Psychiatric Institute, I attended and graduated from the Yale School of Medicine Physician Associate Program in 1981 and had a 12+ year career as a Physician Assistant in Emergency Medicine at Yale New Haven Hospital and later at Milford Hospital, serving as the EMS Coordinator during a portion of that time in Milford. During the last four years of my medical practice, I attended the University of Connecticut School of Law, Evening Division and upon graduation in 1992 and passing the Bar, I began practice with OBrien, Tanski & Young, a primarily defense firm in Hartford. In the beginning, my practice of law was primarily spent in the defense of personal injury, premises liability, MVAs, products liability and medical malpractice cases, but I also handled the plaintiff's personal injury claims that were referred to our office. However, over the 27 years I was at OBrien, Tanski & Young, I came to primarily be involved in the defense of medical malpractice cases in CT. Along with this I defended a national movie theatre company and the premises liability claims brought against them in CT and would be called to defend medical providers in licensure actions brought against them by the CT Department of Health. During this time I tried to completion between 30-40 cases. In 2020, COVID hit and I was fortunate to find a new position with the truly wonderful, honest and hard working people at Jacobs & Wallace, to whom I have brought my years of litigation experience and extensive medical knowledge to the litigation of personal injury and medical malpractice actions. Just to show that you can teach a old dog new tricks! It has proven to be eye opening and rewarding and I look forward to many more years in my somewhat 'new' area of practice.
Emil Lax
New York, NY
Emil Lax is a partner of Segal & Lax and a capable Manhattan personal injury attorney. He concentrates his practice in the area of civil tort litigation. He is a member of the New York and New Jersey State Bar Associations and admitted to practice in Federal Court. He is also a member of the New York Trial Lawyers Association. In 1975, he graduated from Brooklyn College, with honors, and later completed his legal studies at Touro School of law, where he was a member of the Law Review. Endeavoring to assist injury victims from all walks of life, he speaks French, Hungarian, Italian, and Romanian. After taking a case, Emil takes time to explain to his clients how things usually proceed. The legal process can be very overwhelming to victims of injury who never expected to be in this situation, and Emil’s guidance provides them a point of reference that is very reassuring. Clients are so appreciative of his service that much of his business comes from references alone. A defining moment in his career was when he became connected with the idea of how helpful he can be to people through his profession, making a real difference in people's lives through personal injury law. He can represent individuals who suffered injuries as a result of someone else’s negligence, equally whether they could afford a lawyer or not. In the field of immigration, having been an immigrant himself, he can really identify with the struggles and challenges facing them and help them overcome such difficulties, including representing accident victims without legal status. He relates and connects on a human level with people, to build a trust and holistic approach to his clients issues. He is respectful and polite. Because of his knowledge of several languages he tries to interact with his clients in a very open and warm manner. Having been in practice for almost thirty years, he gained the knowledge and skills to pursue his client's rights to the maximum. The field of negligence law requires skills in advocacy, negotiation and a willingness to challenge the status quo. He feels that the years of experience and continuing legal education has instilled in him a willingness to think out of the box, find alternatives and be creative to obtain the best possible results for his clients. His elementary education was in Romania. Then he was two years in Italy where he worked for an immigration agency. While there he acquired fluency in Italian and studied English. His college and graduate education were in New York City. His hobbies include reading, cooking, baking, and travel. He participated as a soccer coach in youth leagues sponsored by his town and on various committees of his house of worship.
