Alejandra Ureta Melcon

Alejandra Ureta Melcon is an immigration attorney at Portner & Shure, P.A. Originally from Spain, she is bilingual in Spanish and English, and proficient in French. Anya V. Henderson

Born and raised in Russia in a family of doctors and teachers, she received her B.A. and M.A. in jurisprudence with a minor in translation in the sphere of professional communication from Volgograd Academy for Public Administration in 2007. Upon graduation, she worked as a judicial assistant and taught English as a second language at a foreign language school before moving to the U.S. in 2009. In 2014, Anya graduated from Thomas M. Cooley Law School magna cum laude and became a member of the Michigan State Bar and Calhoun County Bar. Throughout law school, Anya worked at a local small law firm as a legal assistant, where she obtained over four years of legal experience.
