About Matthew
Matthew V. Mirabile attended Pace University and obtained his J.D. from Pace University School of Law in 1992. He is admitted to practice before the New York State courts and the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. He began his career in private practice as a criminal defense attorney, before joining the prestigious Dutchess County firm of McCabe & Mack LLP in 1996. He became a partner of the firm in 2004, and worked there for 28 years before joining Sokoloff Stern in 2024. At McCabe & Mack, Mr. Mirabile gained a reputation as a well-respected and fierce litigator, who regularly tries cases in the Supreme Courts in the Hudson Valley and throughout the southeastern counties of New York State. Mr. Mirabile’s practice focuses on defending businesses and individuals sued for personal injury and property damage claims resulting from motor vehicle accidents, premises liability, and work-related accidents. He is known for defending high exposure personal injury and wrongful death claims for insurance companies, third party administrators and municipalities against some of the top-rated plaintiff attorneys in the State. While his successes often result in dismissals on summary judgment, favorable settlements through mediation and arbitration, his comfort in the courtroom has yielded a portfolio of defense verdicts, many of which are catalogued in the New York Jury Verdict Reporter over the past 25 years. Mr. Mirabile is a member of the Dutchess County Bar Association and Defense Research Institute. He resides in Cornwall-on-Hudson with his wife Tamara, where he volunteers as a member and past president of the Cornwall Lions Club and Lions International.
