Richard Guss’ practice is focused on civil litigation in Federal and State Court. A significant aspect of his practice focuses on his representation of police and public officials in Civil Rights Claims 42 USC 1983, as well as claims against public entities under the New Jersey Tort Claims Act, Title 59. Richard also is retained by insurance companies to defend their insureds in cases involving motor vehicle accidents and accidents of commercial and private premises, as well as and products liability actions. He has tried over 50 civil jury trials to verdict. He is currently the Municipal Prosecutor in the Township of Bedminster, the Borough of Watchung, Township of Green Brook and the Borough of Far Hills where he has successfully prosecuted cases involving DUI, assault and vehicle violations. Richard’s experience in the courtroom and successes has enabled him to be certified by the New Jersey Supreme Court as a Civil Trial Attorney.
