Robert E. Eaton grew up in Ashland, Wisconsin and graduated from Ashland High School in 1978. From there he went to the University of Wisconsin- Eau Claire (B.A. summa cum laude 1982) and University of Wisconsin-Madison Law School (J.D. 1984). He was admitted to the State Bar of Wisconsin in 1985. After two years in private practice (1985 -1987), he served six years as Ashland County District Attorney (1987-1993) and 25 years as Circuit Judge for Ashland County (1993-2018).
