The parents of a 9 year old boy took their child to a local health care provider three separate times over a few day period with complaints of an extremely high fever and vomiting. Each time, the health care provider told the parents there was nothing to worry about and sent the child home. This was despite the fact that on the second visit, the health care provider had test results showing that something was seriously wrong. Sadly, the child was never admitted to the hospital. The final time that the parents brought their only son back to the health care provider, it was too late, and he passed away.
