
About Daniel
Daniel D. Barks, a partner and managing partner of the Metro D.C. and Atlanta offices at Speiser Krause, joined the firm in 1996. He specializes almost exclusively in aviation law, having litigated over 50 commercial and general aviation matters. He successfully represented victims of air crashes, including as co-lead counsel in the Learjet crash that killed Payne Stewart. A former Naval Aviator, Lt. Barks flew A-6E Intruders and served in Desert Shield and Desert Storm. He is an active member of the Bars of Georgia, Virginia, and New York, and is admitted before the U.S. Supreme Court and the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals. He continues to fly as a commercial, multi-engine, and instrument rated pilot and is a past Chair of the Torts Insurance Practice Section of the American Bar Association.
