About Ernest

Ernest J. Istook, Jr., has been practicing law since 1977, with a career including 14 years as U.S. Congressman for Oklahoma’s 5th District. He is licensed to practice law in Utah, Oklahoma, the United States Supreme Court, and other federal courts. He moved to Utah in 2015 and joined Howard, Lewis & Petersen in 2019. His legal work focuses on litigation for personal injury, medical malpractice, defective products, wrongful taking of property, business disagreements, real estate disputes, will contests, financial frauds, and other challenging situations. He holds a law degree from Oklahoma City University and a B.A. in journalism from Baylor University.
