About Pedro
Pedro Villalobos is a criminal defense attorney who understands the system from every angle, having spent his career on the front lines of the Texas criminal legal system. He has handled misdemeanors, felonies, juvenile matters, and complex family violence cases, bringing real courtroom experience and leadership. He grew up in Houston, earned his undergraduate from The University of Texas at Austin (BS Sport Management with High Honors), and graduated from The University of Texas School of Law (JD). He began his legal career at the Travis County Attorney’s Office, working in the Intake Division, Trial Court Division, and as a Team Lead in the Family Violence Division. He led litigation teams, trained prosecutors, and helped draft internal procedures. At the Travis County District Attorney’s Office, he handled felony-level family violence cases, served as a felony animal cruelty prosecutor, and worked in the Juvenile Division. Most recently, he led the Early Case Review and Counsel At First Appearance Division at the County Attorney’s Office, supervising attorneys and working with law enforcement, judges, and local officials. Outside of the courtroom, he served as President of AFSCME Local 1624 and on the City of Austin Parks and Recreation Board. He is fluent in Spanish and, as a former DACA recipient and Dreamer, his lived experience shapes his approach to protecting clients' rights and futures.
