Robert C. E. Laney has been a partner at the firm since 1997, focusing on professional liability defense for lawyers, including legal malpractice and disciplinary proceedings. His practice also covers commercial litigation, construction claims, unfair trade practices, premises liability, and product liability. He has tried over 40 jury cases and argued more than three dozen appeals in state and federal courts across Connecticut, Virginia, and North Carolina.
