Colonel (retired) Patrick Alan Barnett, U.S. Army, was an inspiration to the firm. He graduated from Sidney, NE High School and the University of Nebraska, then obtained his Juris Doctorate from the University of Colorado Law School and a master of laws from the JAG School. His military service included Aviation, Infantry, Armor, culminating as a JAG officer. He was the creator and 'Grandfather' of the Army National Guard Trial Defense Service. He passed away on September 18, 2015.
