About Daniel

Prior to joining Merson Law, Attorney Daniel May (Dan May) was a member of the firm Heidell Pittoni Murphy & Bach for nearly 25 years, becoming a senior trial attorney and equity partner. Before joining that firm, Mr. May was an Assistant District Attorney in the Kings County District Attorney’s Office. During his almost 30-year legal career, Mr. May has litigated cases on behalf of New York City and municipal agencies, institutional clients, and individual health care professionals. Mr. May has tried numerous cases to verdict, including cases involving allegations of civil rights violations, wrongful death, medical malpractice, birth injury, sexual abuse, and complex personal injury. As a member of the defense bar, Mr. May was an aggressive advocate for his clients, both institutional and individual, at deposition and trial. In motion practice, he has obtained summary judgment dismissals and other success. He has litigated cases in New York State and the courts of the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. Daniel obtained his J.D. degree from City University of New York Law School, and holds undergraduate degrees from New York University and the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. Mr. May brings to Merson Law an ability to effectively handle day-to-day management of complex matters, at the same time providing effective advocacy for clients dealing with stresses related to catastrophic personal injury.
