Matt, a native of Bath County, Virginia, graduated from Hampden-Sydney College with a B.A. in Political Science where he received the John Marshall Writing Award for excellence in writing on a political science topic. He received his J.D. from the Cumberland School of Law in Birmingham, Alabama where he was the recipient of Book Awards in Estate and Gift Taxation, Land Use Planning and Constitutional Law. Prior to joining Shaheen Law Firm in 2004, Matt worked at two previous real estate law firms one in Jacksonville, Florida and the other in Chesterfield, Virginia. Matt is currently licensed to practice law in Virginia and is an inactive member of the Florida Bar. Matt’s practice is concentrated in the areas of residential real estate, employee relocation, estate planning, and personal injury. Outside of the office, Matt enjoys spending time with his family and enjoying the great outdoors.
