Some key legal accomplishments include: Fighting for and obtaining the recognition of step-children of U.S. citizens as “unconditional” legal permanent residents, Getting the Immigration Service to accept applications from detained immigrants without a fee, and Having the first residency petition approved for a same sex marriage by the U.S. District Court of Massachusetts. As an experienced criminal litigator, Attorney FitzGerald has the knowledge and skill for minimizing consequences of criminal charges or convictions for immigrants and U.S. citizens. Desmond served for over 8 years as legal counsel for the Colombian Consulate for New England, and his firm works to recognize the benefits the immigrant community contributes to our communities and country, by delivering quality legal representation to protect their rights and help them realize their immigration goals.
