About Richard

Richard A. Carothers, born in 1951, was admitted to the bars of Georgia and Ohio in 1976. He received his B.A. from Denison University in 1973 and his J.D. from Emory University in 1976. He has served as Assistant City Attorney for Atlanta, Assistant and County Attorney for Gwinnett County, and City Attorney for multiple cities. He is a Senior Partner at Carothers & Mitchell, LLC since 1996 and General Counsel for the Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police. He is a member of the Gwinnett County Bar Association and State Bar of Georgia. He has argued before the United States Supreme Court.
