About Ward
Attorney Ward S. Clay provides high-quality counsel in criminal defense and civil litigation. He has tried at least 57 jury trials, over 100 non-jury trials, and over 130 criminal appeals, with two conviction reversals in the Federal Court of Appeals. He completed his undergraduate work Cum Laude at UCLA in 1982 and obtained his J.D. in 1986 from Loyola Law School. He previously worked at the San Diego City Attorney’s Office and later opened his own criminal trial practice. He is a Certified Legal Specialist in Criminal Law by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization since 2001. He has a Superb rating from Avvo and has been selected to Super Lawyers® from 2008-2017. He has argued cases in California, Hawaii, California Supreme Court, Ninth & Fifth Circuit Federal Courts of Appeal, and the Fourth District Court of Appeal.
