Jury verdict, radiation oncology, radiation induced loss of leg, radiation injury. An active gentleman in his late 40’s was discovered to have a cancerous tumor in his thigh. The tumor was removed successfully and he started radiation therapy to bombard the area where the tumor was located to ensure no cancer cells were left behind. The radiation oncologist and physicist did not adequately evaluate the dose and its distribution which resulted in massive over radiation and the death of his entire leg from radiation necrosis.
