Settlement, hospital, bed sores, (decubitus ulcers) infection, pain, suffering, and death. An elderly patient was admitted to the hospital because she had fainted. She was a dialysis patient and the diabetic, suffering from symptoms of dementia and some disabilities from a prior stroke. She was neglected by the nursing staff and developed bedsores, they became infected and she died of sepsis about 5 weeks later.
