About Irving
Irving M. Friedman practiced labor relations and employment law for over 50 years at the firm he co-founded with Harold Katz in 1953. He represented unions in various industries and is a frequent lecturer and writer on labor law issues. He was inducted into the Hall of Honor of the Illinois Labor History Society and is a fellow at the College of Labor and Employment Attorneys. He helped win a major class action discrimination settlement. He is a former Labor Member on the Board of Review at the Illinois Department of Labor and a member of the Governor's Commission on Labor Laws. He graduated from City College of New York with a liberal arts degree and received his law degree from New York University Law School in 1947. He is a former chairman of the Labor Law Committee of the Chicago Bar Association. He was admitted to the New York Bar in 1947 and Illinois Bar in 1951.
