Ms. Buettner’s practice areas are Municipal Law & Finance, Education Law, Labor Law, Real Property Law, Zoning & Land Use Planning, General Litigation and Appellate Practice. Born in Troy, New York in 1977, she was admitted to the New York State Bar and the U.S. District Court, Northern District in 2003. She received her B.A. magna cum laude from St. Bonaventure University in 1999. Her J.D. cum laude was from Albany Law School of Union University in 2002. While in law school, she was a member of the National Trial Team, Moot Court Board, and a coach of the Civil Rights Appellate Team, receiving the Donna Jo Morse Award for Best Coach in 2002. She is a member of the Justinian Society and the Order of Barristers. Ms. Buettner joined the firm in 2002 as an associate attorney, and was named principal in 2011. She acts as municipal counsel to various villages, towns, cities and is Commission Counsel to the Lake George Park Commission. She is a member of the Warren County Bar Association (Past President), Adirondack Women’s Bar Association (founding member, Vice-President 2003-2004; President 2004-2005), Saratoga County Bar Association, New York State Bar Association, American Bar Association and the Women’s Bar Association of the State of New York (Executive Committee 2004-2005). She also serves on the Attorney Grievance Committee, Third Department, the Judicial Hearing Officer Appointing Committee, Third Department, the Legal Aid Society of Northeastern New York Board of Directors (1st Vice-President 2021-), and the Homemade Theater Board of Directors, and the Leadership Committee and Pastoral Council of Notre Dame Visitation Church. She is the recipient of the 2011 Post Star’s “20 Under 40” award and the 2015 New York State Bar Association Law Youth and Citizenship Distinguished Attorney Award.
