Daniel J. Singel
Minneapolis, MN
Dan is a litigation attorney focusing on complex litigation involving construction, insurance, retail, transportation, hospitality, and professional malpractice. He has served as lead counsel in many arbitrations and jury trials, nearly all of which involved multi-million-dollar risks. His clients range from billion-dollar joint ventures to small businesses to individuals, and he litigates both sides, defense and plaintiff. In addition to his litigation work, Dan advises and represents businesses and insurance companies on contract negotiations, insurance, and risk mitigation. Dan is licensed in Minnesota, Colorado, Wisconsin, Iowa, and North Dakota, both state and federal courts. Dan’s many years of experience in diverse areas of law and jurisdictions equips him to provide unique strategic advice to his clients. Because small details can swing cases or change contract outcomes, Dan is careful in his legal work. He spends much of his time digging into the details of AIA contracts, ISO forms, case law, and state statutes. But Dan also knows that even more important is taking time to step back and evaluate the broader legal landscape. What legal issues are worth fighting about? What will sway jurors? From his many years of experience, Dan helps his clients cut through legal complexity to empower the client to identify their goals, navigate their risk, and maximally advance their position. In addition to his case work, Dan is a frequent author and lecturer on issues of litigation, insurance, and contracts. He is a shareholder and member of the firm’s management committee. Dan’s skills and reputation has earned the respect of his peers as one of the top-rated attorneys in the region, and he has been repeatedly recognized by Super Lawyers for his abilities.
