Damian attended Scarborough High School, where he played hockey, soccer, and baseball. After high school, he received a Bachelor’s degree in Government and Legal Studies from Bowdoin College in Brunswick. He then spent almost three years as a paralegal at Zerillo Law Firm before enrolling at the University of Maine School of Law. While in his second year at law school, Damian was selected to represent Maine Law in the Herbert Wechsler National Criminal Law Moot Court Competition. During his last two semesters, Damian practiced as a student attorney at the Cumberland Legal Aid Clinic, representing low-income individuals in various criminal defense, family, immigration, juvenile, and Protection from Abuse matters. Damian lives in Gray with his wife and their assortment of pets, including one French bulldog, one boxer, one sphynx cat, four lizards, three snakes, and two spiders. Born and raised in South Korea, Joo Hee practiced law as an in-house counsel in Seoul, South Korea, after completing her programs at the Judicial Research & Training Institute. Moving to Syracuse, New York, Joo Hee spent several years supporting her family’s adaptation and received an LLM degree at Syracuse University College of Law. During the one-year program, she began to consider working at Syracuse and spent two additional years at the law school, graduating from the JD program with a grade in the top 6% of the Class of 2021. Despite being an international student, Joo Hee was accepted as a member of the Justinian Honor Society and was recognized as a talented scholar with the Order of the Coif (an American honor society for law school graduates). She also interned at the National Disability Rights Network in Washington, D.C., and worked at the Burton Blatt Institute, where she served underrepresented individuals. Having experienced her parents’ divorce in her childhood, Joo Hee naturally became passionate about helping families and children in difficult situations. As a mother of a child with special needs, she also has a deep empathy for disabled people.
