Gracie Saenz Reyna, a Starr County native, is a proud member of the Fighting Texas Aggie Class of 1995. While attending Texas A&M University for her undergraduate degree, she served in numerous leadership capacities, most notably, the Memorial Student Center’s Executive Vice President of Programs. Her junior year she was recognized for her outstanding leadership and service, receiving the prestigious Buck Weirus Spirit Award. Gracie went on to obtain her Juris Doctor from St. Mary’s University School of Law in 1998. During law school, she served on the Board of Advocates and as President of the Texas Aggie Bar Association. She also actively worked in the Community Economic Development Clinic as well as the Telephone Access to Justice at Texas Rural Legal Aid. Gracie began her career as a staff attorney at TRLA in Edinburg, Texas, serving as Director of the Pro se Divorce Clinic and working on domestic violence cases as well as health and safety workers compensation cases. In January of 2000 she worked as an associate attorney at Brin & Brin, P.C. where she worked on medical malpractice insurance defense cases and products liability insurance defense cases. In 2002 she returned to public service working as an Assistant District Attorney for the Hidalgo County District Attorney’s Office. The majority of Gracie’s tenure as an ADA was spent as a First Chair trial prosecutor, litigating some of the most heinous crimes in Hidalgo County. In 2019 she was awarded the Prosecutor of the Year Award from the Rio Grande Valley Family and Friends of Murdered Children organization. Having started her career at an insurance defense firm, Gracie has returned after gaining over 20 years of trial and negotiation experience. She understands the importance of being able to identify files that can be closed quickly and uses her negotiation skills in doing so. For those cases that are not amenable to an early resolution, Gracie is able to litigate through trial. She enjoys a well-regarded reputation among her peers and the judiciary in the Rio Grande Valley. Gracie is bilingual in Spanish and has a broad defense practice defending Mexican truck companies and their drivers along with local and national businesses in personal injury cases along the Texas/Mexican border.
