Jay is passionate about protecting those who have been injured in an accident. From a young age he saw firsthand how insurance companies take advantage of people injured in an accident-at that time it was his parents. Jay saw that despite having legal representation, not all lawyers are created equal. His parents did not receive the help, protection or compensation they deserved. He knew from that point forward that he wanted to help the injured-and knew he could do a better job at preventing insurance companies taking advantage of injured people. Prior to founding Piedra | Injury Law, Jay worked for a boutique insurance defense firm where he further witnessed the machine designed to oppress accident victims. Jay was unable to continue watching people become further victimized by a system that should be protecting them. He made a switch to only helping those injured in accidents when he joined one of the largest personal injury firms in the State of Florida, where he was involved in training new attorneys and expanding the firm throughout the State. Charles Bleil has over 20 years experience in criminal defense. He is a member of the Federal Bar Association, Dallas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association and the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association. He regularly handles federal and state criminal cases. In 2007, Mr. Bleil arrived in Dallas, Texas and served as an Assistant Federal Public Defender for the Northern District of Texas for over 12 years. In this role, he practiced exclusively in federal court at the trial level representing indigent defendants. He also served as a state felony prosecutor in Hidalgo County, Texas. Charles Bleil is licensed to practice in Texas and federal courts. Mr. Bleil is a member of the College of the State Bar of Texas, a distinction held by less than 10 percent of all licensed attorneys in Texas. Charles Bleil also served as a judge advocate in the United States Army with active duty service as a military defense counsel in South Korea and as a military prosecutor in Kuwait and at NAS JRB New Orleans, Louisiana. Mr. Bleil speaks fluent Spanish and worked for a number of years in Mexico as a foreign legal consultant.

Felipe is originally from Peru and is a native Spanish speaker who is also fluent in English. He completed his legal studies in Peru and was is a Peruvian attorney. He has been working in the Personal Injury Litigation field for nearly a decade. His hobbies include spending time with his family and watching sporting events.

Fernando Guzman is the Office Manager and Client Concierge. Fernando has over 16 years of law firm experience handling personal injury and employment cases. This experience provides Fernando with the insight to assist clients in every aspect of their case from dealing with insurance companies to arranging medical treatment and providing interpretation for our Spanish clients. Our clients continue to be adored by him as he provides constant updates on their case, how respectful and well-mannered he is to each client he speaks to. In addition to arranging/assisting in medical treatment, he is excellent at obtaining records and billing from Hospitals or third-party vendors when they try to delay on disclosing them. The most fun parts of the job are the client’s reactions to how much they are receiving at the conclusion of their case after all the providers are compensated.
