Terelle Hairston is the COO of the Virginia offices. Mr. Hairston began his career as a corporate consultant in leadership and technology for Fortune 100 companies. He later worked for a large hedge fund and a media conglomerate where he focused on business strategy. Mr. Hairston then joined Virginia Injury Law at our Norfolk location and has helped VIL build world class business processes. Mr. Hairston grew up in Virginia Beach, Virginia and graduated from Yale University.

Shawna Clelland

Covington, LA

Shawna Clelland, born in Akron, Ohio, and raised in Tampa, Florida, developed her career as an insurance broker in New York City before gaining extensive experience in bookkeeping and office management in Tampa. She spent six months in Panama, learning Spanish. She joined The Truitt Law Firm in 2011 and returned in 2022, having received an associate's degree in General Studies (with a focus in accounting and finance) from Delgado Community College in 2016.

Junior Arzú Alvarez joined the team in April 2023, bringing medical expertise and empathetic client care. His career-defining moment was an interview with Kausar, leading to an opportunity to learn and grow. With a background as a medical doctor in Honduras, he provides informed advice to clients. He excels in attention to detail, critical thinking, problem-solving, and advocacy. Junior grew up in Honduras, attended La Ceiba Bilingual School, and was offered a professional soccer career. He is actively involved in community medical brigades and offers free consultations to those in need.

Jo Acosta

Bryan, TX

Jo Acosta is a paralegal at Rodriguez & Gimbert, having joined the firm in 2011. She is fluent in Spanish and serves as a liaison between clients, the state, coordinators, and multiple courts, assisting Spanish-speaking clients.

Victor M. Arellano

Nataly Cabrera focuses on immigration law. She graduated from Holy Cross University with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, with concentrations in philosophy and Latin American studies. At Suffolk University Law School, she studied international and immigration law and worked for an immigration clinic, representing clients in asylum and deportation cases. She also worked in corporate law in Mumbai, India. Nataly is actively involved in the Latino community, having worked as a Community Organizer and Coordinator for youth programs, and is currently a member of Latinos en Acción.

Anne Thompson is a third-year law student at Mitchell Hamline School of Law and a certified student attorney with extensive courtroom experience. At the Anoka County Public Defender’s Office, Anne has represented clients at bail hearings, pre-trial motions, and contested omnibus hearings under attorney supervision. She has also drafted motions in limine and legal memoranda, conducted in-depth legal analysis, and worked closely with trial teams on witness preparation. Fluent in Spanish, Anne is particularly skilled at building trust with clients from diverse backgrounds and has a strong command of evidentiary review, procedural strategy, and pre-trial litigation. Prior to law school, she held several public-facing roles in crisis advocacy, nonprofit marketing, and newsroom operations. Her communication skills and case-readiness make her a valuable asset to the BK Law Group team.

Carlos Palma

San Rafael, CA

Carlos Palma was born in El Salvador, and was raised in and currently lives in Richmond, CA. For ten years he worked for the city of Richmond’s Community Services Department, where he managed recreation facilities and coordinated various events and programs for Richmond residents. Carlos received his B.A. in Legal Studies from the University of California at Berkeley in 2017. While studying at the University of California, he worked as a law clerk for a San Francisco based firm before moving to Brent & Fiol, LLP. Carlos plans to attend law school in the future, and his goal is to use his education, Spanish-speaking ability, and experience working with diverse and low-income communities to help facilitate greater access to legal services.
