Melissa Betancourt is an Associate Attorney in the Elder Law division at RTRLAW, focusing on probate, estate planning, and guardianship matters. She was admitted to The Florida Bar in 2024 and is a first-generation Colombian American. She earned her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from St. Thomas University College of Law, where she also received a Certificate in Elder Law. She served as Editor-in-Chief of the St. Thomas Law Review and held leadership roles in student organizations. She interned with the Seventeenth Judicial Circuit of Florida, Probate Division, and worked as a law clerk. Prior to law, she was a Settlement Specialist at a public adjusting firm. She holds Bachelor of Arts degrees in Criminology and Anthropology from the University of Florida. She is bilingual in English and Spanish.
