He then became an assistant state attorney, prosecuting crimes in Orange and Osceola counties. James then served as an assistant city attorney and police legal adviser for the City of Kissimmee. While there, he won a three-minute verdict for the state after a two-day 12 member jury trial. Joel Hernandez obtained a Bachelor in Law (2011) and a Master in Business and Environmental Law (2014) from UNITEC in Honduras, graduating top of his class for both.
