While in law school, Alex worked for an immigration law firm in Omaha called Kasaby Schmoke. He then moved to his wife’s home of Des Moines. He spent two years working at a nonprofit organization formerly known as Justice for Our Neighbors, where he eventually became a managing attorney. There, he helped over 200 clients with their immigration cases. Alex went on to work at an Ames, Iowa, immigration law firm, Barten Law. During his two years at Barten Law, he assisted immigrants with immigration, criminal, and family law matters. Alex joined Mueller, Schmidt, Mulholland & Cooling in 2021, focusing on family-based immigration, humanitarian immigration, and removal defense cases.
